I'm considering changing from from my current ISP and phone provider (Tiscali) to Sky. If I take up this offer it will cost around £64 per month including line rental instead of the eighty odd I'm paying to BT (line rental) and Tiscali right now.
I've had Sky TV before but I don't know anything about the reliability of the complete package. Is it really feasible to expect up to 20Mb download speed? How can they make this claim when most others are up to about the 8Mb mark?
Is there anyone else out there that can tell me if they're happy with this service? Are the downloads really unlimited?
Have you checked to see if Virgin Media are in your area???
Their 10MB broadband delivers about 5MB even at busy times and seems to be a lot cheaper than your Sky offer.
I subscribed to virgin media earlier this year after a bad year with Tiscali, the download speeds were very slow. On a forum i plumped for Virgin rather than Sky because of the fibre optic cable seemed superior over copper. On a speedchecker my download speed has never been below 8Mb .I had problems at first with my tv package, but at least the phone calls to virgin were free! on the whole i think i made a good choice. My bill per month is usually around £31 tv phone and broadband.
