Over th past few monthsI have posted quite a few questions on setting up Skype and I am pleased to say that the system is working fine. So I can now speak to anybody in the WORLD who is on Sykpe for nothing, free zilch. Too good to be true ? well I cannot see any catches what a wonderful world we live in.
The problem I see with Skype is that the person you want to contact needs to be on line and expecting a call. Perhaps you could give them a ring first!! (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
"Spam messages"
I've never received a spam message on Skype, whereas I get loads of junk calls trying to get me to sign up for more credit cards, etc. on my land line.
"and expecting a call" - why?
Either their machine needs to be on or they need to have a Skype phone, but that's hardly a big deal.
I obviously had the wrong idea about Skype! I thought it worked PC to PC via a webcam. Maybe now I'll look into it, especially contacting friends and relatives abroad.
