If i were to organise a stag do (week abroad) for my mate, but will find it a bit difficult to collect deposits etc as people are all over the country. there are likely to be around 100 people going.
what i was thinking is i could set up a website where people who are interested could register their names/emails and receive email updates and pay deposits/outstanding balances via the web into my bank to then make the payments to the relevant companies.
this way i would be able to monitor who's coming. contact them all at once by email and would be able to post a list of people attending so everyone know's what's going on at the same time. the site could contain all the relevant uptodate info so everyone knows all the details and there would be no confusion, or details mixed up or forgotten (chinese whispers kind of thing). also a lot less hassle for me.
is this kind of this possible using basic web design software, and if so can you offer any advice that may help me?
I would use google docs to create a set of spreadsheets which can be edited by all concerned.
One front page giving details of the stag do; one spreadsheet for contact details; another for payments made and received.
Payments by PayPal.
I wouldn't advise you publicise details of your bank account on the web unless you can guarantee you're using a secure website, and I certainly wouldn't send bank details to your guests in an e-mail.
