Windows struggles with BIGGGG files
Hopefully there is a solution to this, but any advice would be appreciated
I use a program called XNVIEW, which can create executable slideshows of set of images (you select the ones you want in a show and it creates a .exe file you can then execute at any time to see the show)
Snag is, some of these .exe files can get pretty big (like a gig or so!) if they have lots of images - they still work fine, BUT when I browse to the folder which contains any of these big executables, Windows seems to want to go and read the whole file (heaven knows why) and it takes AGES. It does this even before I double-click on one to execute it. What makes things worse is that I can do just about nothing else on my pc whilst it does it's thing
I know something is reading the file, because if I try to delete it, then I get the "in use" message
Any ideas anyone?
