Problem copying VOB files for playback on DVD player

The mini discs which I have recorded on my camcorder play well through my DVD player (VOB files). However when I try and copy the contents of four separate mini discs onto one DVD I cannot get the resulting DVD to play successfully. Each time I attempt to play the disc, the DVD shows a message saying that this type of disc can't be played - I use a DVD -R which is what the manual says I should use so I can't understand where I have gone wrong. That is becuase they have to be authored onto a disc properly.This is the process that creates the titles, menus, subtitle settings, chapters, etc, and tells the player about the contents and how/which order to play.
You need to import the VOB files into a DVD making program. If you have Nero with Nerovision (with the DVD plugin) or another DVD maker, you will need to use that. Burning VOB's to a disc will not work in a home player.
With the correct codec installed, it is possible to play VOB's on a PC with a media player.

As Albags says, you need a program to properly organise the files for playing in a DVD player.
You could edit and combine your video files together with "Avidemux" (GOOGLE for it) and then burn to a DVD with either "Free Videos to DVD v.3.2" or "DVD Styler" whichever you prefer to use.
"Format Factory" will convert your VOB files to MPG files (much smaller?) if required and "VLC Media Player" will play almost anything on your computer.
The above progs are all FREE.
You could also try to make the DVD on -RW discs first so as to save any wastage. If they play on the DVD OK then copy to ordinary -R discs.
