I have a BT Voyager home hub wireless connection.
My internet connection speed varies between 54mbps down to 5mbps, although the signal strength from the hub is showing as excellent. Occassionaly the connection dies completely, and then unable to re-connect for a while.
Anyone had a similar experience, or can anyone suggest the possible cause and how it can be solved.
Thanks, Geoff

Probably just BT's poor service. Although saying that, all internet connections slow and speed up during different times during the day, it depends on how much traffic there is at any particular time.
Nothing to do with BT, they provide the service to the master socket, anything inside the house (including the wireless) is the customers responsibility.

First thing I'd try is changing the channel on the home hub.

Thanks for the suggestion Chuckfickens. Why would changing the channel help, and how do I do it?
I was told by bt when I experienced problems that it was down to the amount of people using the same exchange causing the problems. This would be corrected when the exchange is upgraded to fibre optic from copper wires

I went to virgin
