there is a smiley face emoticon symbol, normally at the end of the taskbar where you can change fonts etc.

there you can find the heart symbol, and many more from pizza, sheep and umbrellas
Alt+3 is the code for a heart.

Having checked that your your number lock is on, which it normally is by default, hold down the Alt key, then press 3 on the numeric keypad (not on the numbered keys above the letters). Then release the Alt key.

On Vista, ( and it's probably similar path with XP and 7)

Click start, All programs, accessories, system tools, character map.

Scroll down until you see the heart.

Click select then copy.

Paste it into your text.
mmmm..Bit slow with that one. Do as Chris said.

Thanks Chris.

Not sure what you mean JackDanielsU.
Sorry I thought u were typing an email in hotmail

On the taskbar right above where you are typing the new message are all the tools to change the message, from different fonts, sizes, colours, boldness, italics and the like

the last button is a yellow smiley face, click on that, and it opens a little rectangle where there are fun things to add into the email . and one is a red heart
