Does anyone know a good reliable cheap package for internet and telephone. My son and his girlfriend are moving into their flat and want to know if anyone has any recommendations. They won't want extra TV channels, they only need a landline and internet connection. Thank you

I'm not sure if you can get reliable and cheap.......I'm with BT which is reliable but not cheap.....some friends are with TalkTalk which is cheap but not reliable.....

Thank you Craft. I know Talk Talk are awful cos a friend tried to have them and they kept not connecting her when they said they would so she gave up with them.
you could try virgin media
I'm the same as craft and find BT very reliable.
My Option 1 Broadband costs £12.99 per month
Unlimited Phone line Weekend Plan costs £12.79 (Line Rental)
Total= £25.78
Call charges are extra
Hi Notafish, I have had awful problems with TalkTalk so please steer clear, a fellow Aber on here helped me out with a link https://www.bethere.c...eb/beportal/homepage, not sure if this may help you out....but Im with BT now, but they are pricey...
It's almost impossible to get a subjective answer to this question, you've had two people saying BT are good, but for every one person that says any ISP is good you can find somebody else that will say the same ISP is rubbish and stay away from them at all costs.

To be honest with you very few problems with any of the main, larger, ISPs are actually the ISPs fault, most of them are either the user not setting it up properly or caused by a phone line problem, which you'd get regardless of which ISP you go with.

You can read reviews of lots of different ISPs here...

http://www.broadband-...uk/broadband-reviews/

but keep in mind people will always complain if they have a problem, very few people bother to post reviews if everything works fine.

Were those reviews written by BE though? It was on a BE site.
I'm with BT for internet and landline, they threw in a home hub and I could have had a couple of phones too (except I'd already got them) when I signed up. Not cheapest but pleased with the service.
It is totally pointless spending more money Phoning an unreliable ISP complaining about unreliable Broadband than you spend on the Package itself. No money saving there is there.....
No it's not, it's run by a company called Richweb Media Ltd.

ive never had any problems with orange
Question Author
Hi Chuckfickens, thanks for your answer. I've not heard of BE. Doesn't that mean Broadband Expert? It looked to me like that was their web page.
Question Author
Deggers, is that ten pound a month includung line rental?
Thank you everybody for your answers.
no you still have to pay BT for the line
BE is an ISP, owned by O2...

It is pure coincidence that B and E are the initials for Broadband Expert.
Question Author
Thank you for your answers. They went with BT before I could stop them, before they'd seen all the replies. I hope they've done the right thing cos that BE looks good.
They'll be paying 39 pound a month all in.
