mail notifier

As the ever helpful ABers that frequent this thread know only too well, I'm thick when it comes to computers. For a while now I've had a very helpful email notifier (on Yahoo) that makes a two note sound when I receive an email - to my knowledge I haven't fiddled with anything but it is not working today. Am happy to take the blame but I really don't think I've done anything. Any help, as always, is greatfully appreciated.
