I've had exact;ly the same problems as you with TalkTalk since they took over Tiscali.
If you collect together all the phone bills to call their customer service you can claim back the whole amount you have spent accross the period. That's what I am about to do.

I had a perfectly satisfactory service with Tiscali for more than 2 years.
For the past 14 days I have had problems with TT; have spent over 4 hours (@5p per minute) trying to get the problem resolved, have spoken to numerous 'advisers' or whatever, and am still no nearer a solution.
I have had a mail from someone calling himself Ricardo Fernandez telling me the old chestnut that 'the engineers are working on the problem.' There was no response to my reply.
No matter that I am paying over £28 a month for the service (for your information, Chuck).
The revenue TT gets from calls to their 'helpline' must be unbelievable.
I am totally disgusted with the entire operation.
