what a shocking and disgusting sight!
We knew we were in for cuts by this Government but to see students lighting fires outside Tory HQ and smashing the windows of Millbank Towers in London is, quite frankly, sickening, it's like looking at mob rule, what they expect to achieve by their thug-like actions, I don't know!

I would rather people got degree's that they needed, then utilised them in the working world rather than spend their life avoiding reality by doing needless courses

A rethink, its quite clear that reasoning doesn't work.
I have no objections to this as a tory policy but Clegg is a power hungry hypocrite who is willing to sacrifice his partys mandate to futher his own cause.
If a few windows make him think there are rammifications so be it.
Those kids will get arrested and have a criminal record for the rest of thier days.
Meanwhile others are already going about the democratic process.
Hope your not to shocked because this is just the start.

Quite agree Bobbisox, nothing more than thugs.
Most of them gain their violent actions while members of the UAF (Unite Against Fascism) 'The nasty Left'.
/// The march, called by UAF and Love Music Hate Racism, was supported by the TUC and the Muslim Council of Britain ///
/// But it was the presence of large number of young people, school and university students that gave the demo its exuberant character.///

what sandyRoe said. I used to protest about the Vietnam war and was surprised years later to read in a US politician's memoirs that one particular demo had shocked him with its depth of feeling and encouraged him to soften his views... okay, I didn't end the war personally but I did my bit.
On the other hand there weren't any threats to our education in those days.

sandy.....quite the opposite, one worked hard, one passed the examinations and one got to University. Those that could afford it paid, those that couldnt were means tested and got a grant and their tuition fees paid.
My "parents" were means tested and I got a grant and my fees paid and it was under a Tory Council.
Can´t see much wrong with that.............can you?
