MP4 to AVI on a Mac

What is the best way to convert mp4 files to avi on a Mac. I have tried various programs, Visual Hub will not decode acc 5.1 audio. Media convertor does not give me the option to avi, and handbrake will only convert to mkv.

Any ideas?
