Since replacing my PC with a laptop running Windows 7 I have been unable to find an Internet Favourites folder which I can copy onto back-up media. On my original PC running an early version of Windows, this folder was extremely easy to find. On my second PC running Windows XP I found it only by accident after trying off-and-on for months. It appears even harder to find with Windows 7. The most obvious route (searching for a folder title) also came up with nothing!
Can anyone help?

When you ran your search did you remember to use the American spelling? (It's 'Favorites', not 'Favourites')

Chris
When you say look for it do you mean by searching or physically looking? I don't know about windows 7 but in the past with all other op systems I have physically gone into the windows folder clicking on the c drive and found it that way. Quite safe providing you don't change anything and just use copy and paste

Thanks for suggestions.
Buenchico: Re spelling - you could be correct - I try this again ensuring I use the American spelling!

Postdog: Have tried both physically looking (have browsed through any main folder in Windows Explorer that it could reasonably be in) as well as by doing a keyword search on whole C drive.

Buenchico: Tried with US spelling of favorites - all the search found was the folder I'd previously imported from my PC which I'd titled "Internet favorites (imported)" so that it wouldn't have the same title as the current equivalent on my laptop, still waiting to be found!
I'd expect is to be in C:\ Documents and Settings\username\ Favorites.
Click on the start button and in the search/run box at the bottom of the start menu type the following.

%USERPROFILE%\Favorites

Press enter and you should be there.
and if you want to find it through explorer you'll firstly need to set windows to show hidden files and folders...so...

Open any Windows Explorer window, Click on the Organize button. (top left) then Click on Folder and Search Options then click on the view tab and look down the advanced options list and put a tick in "show hidden files and folders"

Once you've done that browse to c:\users\username and your favourites folder should now be visible.

(I'd suggest turning off show hidden files and folder once you've found what you want)

Buenchico, Windows 7 does not USE "Documents and Settings"

The folder is now called "Users", ie

C:\Users\username\ Favorites
Its easy in Windows 7.

Click on the circle in the bottom left.

From the menu that is displayed select on your user name in the top right (under the "icon").

This displays a window with folders in it called My Documents, My Pictures, My Music etc

And one of those folders is called Favorites

Double click on that and they are all shown.
