Without a link, or further information, your question is rather meaningless. There have always been plenty of alternatives to Limewire (including Shareaza, Morpheus and Frostwire). However file-sharing copyright materials, without the relevant permission or payment, has always been an offence under both civil and criminal law, which can lead to some very hefty penalties.

In the latter days of the old Limewire, it was full of infected .. fake files. It was possible to spot them tho.
Never file-shared in 6 years. Have a much safer and better way that is also pretty secure and encrypted.
