Facebook Places not working

I have a Blackberry 9500 but I can't get facebook places on the facebook app to work!
When I try it, it says that my location is not available, and in the options the bit that says allow facebook to use my GPS information is greyed out.
I went into my blackberry options in the home menu and made sure the GPS location was switched on as that is what I read works, but I still can't get it to work!
Does anyone have any more ideas why it may do this? And how to fix it?
