Trouble with Internet Explorer
I'm having trouble getting my Google home page to stabilise; here is the sequence of events, repeated over and over many times until it somehow eventually resolves itself:
1. Google Home Page appears for a few seconds, then disappears.
2. Message appears : 'We are unable to return you to Google.co.uk.
3. Label appears: Internet Expolrer has encountered a problem and needs to close (with error report).
When I send the error report ( or decline) the entire sequence is repeated, over and over again, in a rhythical pattern, just like a gramophone needle sticking in a record.
Any idea what's wrong ?
Thanks.

However, assuming that you still want to fix IE,it would help to know the following:
1. Which version of Internet Explorer are you using? (If you're not sure, and assuming that you can get IE to remain open for a few moments, click on Help > About Internet Explorer).
2. Which version of Windows are you using? (With which service packs, if appropriate?). If you're not sure, go to Start>Run. Type 'winver' and hit 'Enter'.
3. Is there a particular file mentioned to at the end of the message you're seeing (e.g. 'Pdm.dll).

Thanks for your reply.
Without knowing if a specific dll file is mentioned in the error message, it could prove hard to pin down the cause of your problem (and, more importantly, the solution to it). However see if anything here helps:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/pc_ie_intro
Firefox is available here:
http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
Many people would add the British English dictionary to it (for automatic spell-checking):
https://addons.mozill...S/firefox/addon/3366/
Using Adblock Plus with Firefox gets rid of all the annoying ads on AB (and elsewhere), resulting in pages loading much faster:
https://addons.mozill...S/firefox/addon/1865/
(I recommend choosing 'easyList' as your subscription service with Adblock Plus).
