Which is the best free programme to record Youtube videos, so that I can later transfer them to a disc?

I am running Windows XP with Firefox browser.

Freecorder 4 might be worth a look. I only use it for music so I'm not sure about images.

dont know about free but this offers a free trial and to buy is quite cheap......i have used it for last 3 years.

There is an extension called DownloadHelper available for Firefox which does this.

Freecorder 4 does have a button to download u tube videos, but I've never used it.

Re my above post. There is a keeptube firefox extension available that places a download button on each youtube video...

keepvid works well, just copy and paste the url and away you go. simples.

Thank you for all your answers, I downloaded freecorder, but can't do anything with it, a window called Clip Nabber keeps popping up and when I try to paste the URL it just won't accept it.

I have even tried to un-install the programme but it wont let me do that also.

Help please, where am I going wrong?

I'm not sure where your going wrong but i'm also on XP and firefox. I have no trouble with you-tube downloader. See link:

Firefox 4 doesn't recognise many of the add-ons which work with earlier versions of Firefox but this still works well:

Once you've installed that add-on, you'll be able to record Youtube videos in just a couple of clicks.
