I'm just wondering is it possible for me to connect a laptop to my PC using Bluetooth and then to access the printer which is connected to the PC and print something from the laptop?
Yes, providing both laptop and pc have bluetooth. That would be no problem.
Or connect your laptop directly to the printer.
Alternatively, copy the 'something' to cd, dvd or memory stick and print from that or upload your something to the web for printing from any computer. GoogleDocs is good for that.
hc, the PC has a Bluetooth dongle connected to it and the laptop has built in Bluetooth. It says that they are connected to each other but I cannot find anywhere on the laptop that allows you to access and software or hardware on the PC.
It is not a big deal as you say I can put any items for printing onto a pen drive and print from the PC. Basically I'm just wondering is it possible to do it as asked above?
"We do have a router. The PC is using XP and the laptop is Vista."
In that case, all you need do is:
On the PC, right-click the Printer, choose Sharing.
Enable sharing of the printer.
Make sure both computers are using the same workgroup name (doesn't matter what it is as long as it's the same on both)
On the laptop, browse the network neighbourhood, locate the printer and say that you want to use it.
Cool, when I say look into it I mean I'm not too sure how to do all of that so I will probably have to mess about. At the minute we only use the router for connection to the internet and I'm not too sure how to do any of that Networking stuff.
