Can anybody please help advise me.

I want to take a picture of an image on a glass background (it is a fruit machine glass). Now, with my Digital camera the flash insists on flashing to get a well coloured image. I tried turning the flash off but the image then hasn't got the correct colours it looks fairly dull,so I tried a tripod with the same result ..Finally I took a pic at an angle to deflect the flash and used photoshop to straighten it up, but as good as PS is it still looks odd.

So please does anybody have a solution, straight on pic taken with a digi camera where I can get the true colour without a flash.

Forever in you debt---Honest!!! (pulling my hair out here)

Either use another lighting source, ie lots of different lamps around it, and turn the flash off on the camera. Or else, use the tripod and turn the exposure up. I used the former this very day, and worked treat it did.

Thanks a bunch Joey..............I'll leave it 'till daylight tomorrow now and try the lamp idea.

YW! Good luck!

I had to take a bunch of shots again today cos I tried to use the sunlight in my conservatory, but it came out funny, kind of glowy, cos my camera was set to 'tungsten'.

If using the extra lamps doesn't work to well try covering the actual bulb with white paper or a thin sheet.  This should soften the light and stop the intense glare from the bulb.  (Obviously don't get the paper or sheet to close to the bulb as it's a fire risk!)
You need to diffuse the light from the flash. White paper in front of the bulb is a good idea. The light will still go through but will not reflect as much. You could also lengthen the exposure time if you can work out how.
