Just had an email telling me a parcel was on its way and asking me to open an attachemnt. The details are very vague and I am not expecting a parcel. Should i delete it?

Yes, in short. If you acknowledge it then they know your email is correct and you will be inundated.

There is also the possibility that the attachment is a virus.
I have had several of these emails over the last couple of weeks, all claim to be from UPS parcels and all had attachments. I deleted them all without opening them.

It is risky opening ANY attachment in an email (even from someone you know).
