Trnsferring home video to CD

Can anyone rcomend anywhere I can have home video transferred to CD. I have about 4 full tapes I need transferring. Is it worth doing it myself. If so what would I need and is it cost effective for just 4 tapes and what equipment/software would I ned |

If you only ever want to save just these 4 tapes then that might not be such a bargain for you but the quality of movie that you can fit onto a standard CD (700MB) is quite different from that on a DVD (4700MB).
As for what software you'd need and how to wire up your VHS to your PC - I've no idea.

I did this only last week, I bought a �30 TV capture card and conected the VCR to it as I would the aerial.
The only problem I came across was I had to lower the output frequency on the VCR (via a little screw in the back) as the default for some reason had interferance from the TV.
Hope this helps too....all in all...Easy to do 8-)
