ive just bought two turntables but when i plug them into the aux on my stereo there is very little sound that comes out.anybody know why?thanks bri

'AUX' inputs are usually a similar impedance and sensitivity to 'TAPE IN' or 'CD IN'.

A turntable cartridge input is very different. Either you'll need a different amp - or Google for a suitable pre-amp to plug into the 'AUX'.

Or if you have two turntables a mixer would do the job too (as I'd kind of assume that's the reason for two turntables)

what inputs does your amp have? I seem to remember that the 'phono' input is the sensitive one.

If the turntables are equipped with magnetic cartridges, then just using a mixer or general purpose preamp will not do the trick. You need a proper phono input which includes the RIAA correction circuitry, or you'll find that the sound is low quality with very little bass.

and some turntables have a earth/ground lead that have to be connected to the back of the amp/mixer too
