At the end of each web session, I like to clear my 'cookies, and files visited that day, which I can do, using the right-click on 'Properties' from the desk-top, but this fails to clear the 'History' section. Am I missing something? This is really vexing my tidy (PC-wise at least!) mind - can anyone help?

Andy - assuming you are using Explorer as your browser, go to Tools at the top of the browser screen, click on Internet Options, and then clear your history from there.
You could try a very useful programme called Window Washer which will actually deep clean your various cache, temp, history & .dat files and works on both Netcape & IE. Its available as a free trial from www.webroot.com and I found the small registration fee to be well worth it - its scary how much stuff is clogging up your HD otherwise!
