Force ability to change ink
I have an Epson Stylus Photo R285 printer. When any of the inks are low a disply warns you to change ink. You then get the ability through various menus to move the ink cartridge holder allowing the removal of any particular cartidge. How do I change ink when it is still showing ink available? It is possible that the ink has dried and is not being used. Basically it is showing some ink in all cartidges (some lower than others) and I want to be able to force a replacement ink. Don't know that this is totally clear, but I hope you get my drift!!

If you can't find your manual, you can download it as a zip file, here:
ftp://download.epson-europe.com/pub/download/
3181/epson318124eu.zip
(As that's an 'ftp' link, rather than an 'http' one, you'll have to copy and paste it into your browser's address bar). I've just tried unzipping the file and I can't get the document to display as a local 'web site' on my PC. If you find the same problem the information you need can be found by double-clicking on the file called Ink_4.
