'buttoning' someone...nice message...?
13 Answers
as you all know, sometimes you cannot answer a call to someone, for whatever reason, and have to press the reject or ignore button, but dont want them to just think you have just refused to answer - so i wondered if there is any way you can put a message to play to them (instead of a dial tone or just going dead etc) that basically tells them you are busy and cannot asnswer and will call them back or something?
like an app perhaps?
cheers

i mean if you need to 'button them'....ie you cannot just sit there an let it ring, or have them ring and ring - say if you are in an interview or whatever an have forgotten to put it on silent or something
if you button someone its clear to the person that you have just rejected the call

its a blackberry, 8900 curve - it has a forwarding option which if unanswered etc...but i rememeber hearing that you paid for the call if you set call forwarding (?)
i just thought i may be able to press a button and play something like the voicemail or some other message - something along the lines of 'sorry i cannot answer right now, im in the middel of something, i will call you back in a few minutes...' or somethign
voicemail just give them the option to leave a message.
the text thing sounds good... i just hate it when it goes to the engaged tone or whatver because its clear you have been buttoned and even though they have a good reason, its still not very nice, and id like people to know
though not good if the number is a landline, or withheld
whats that app called ed?
i remember years ago i was in an important meeting and hadnt long had a phone - they were still new - and i hadnt silenced it or anything and i got a call from someone at harry potter - and i had to button it - i was so ruffled around the boa because thats more important than the meeting - but couldnt just answer and start speaking... i called back later and when i eventually found the person who had rang me, she seemed unhappy that id 'just put the phone down on her'...i explained but she still seemed a touch frosty...and i never worked for them again... could be coincidnece but it still bothers me that its because of that ...haha
