I have connected my Laptop to my Sony Bravia via HDMI cable (no adapters).

When watching films there are sporadic ripples across the screen. These are not apparent on the laptop screen.

What could be the problem?

Incorrect screen resolution maybe, or possibly incorrect refresh rate for the screen.

Also if you are running with both displays active then try it with just the external display active.

Sorry hit the wrong key.

Screen res. is okay but I originally used it with just the TV screen active. However it was temperamental when I unplugged it. It wouldn't always revert back to the screen on the laptop.

I can't remember if there were problems or not with only the tv on use but I shall try it tonight.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks ChuckFickens

As soon as I revert to single screen it cures the problem.
