Dreamweaver table problem

Totally stuck - some help - any help appreciated! New website which has a navigation bar to the left hand side. This has been designed by the person who wants the site - I'm putting it together for him. Now, it comes in two parts. The top bit "image 1" is the club logo, the rest of the navigation bar is the buttons designed to look like a music note. No problems there but I cannot for the life of me line up Image 1 to the navigation bar- imagine the music note with its stem. Image 1 is the start of the stem and the navigation buttons hold the rest of the stem - now join the two up! Got me? Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Much thanks

It sounds to me as if you might have to make the music note into a background image in the cell, and put the table of navi contents 'on top' of it, if this makes sense.
