Simply logging onto the wireless network doesn't use your credit, you log onto the network then try to browse to any web page and it will take you to the logon page automatically where you have to enter your logon details, once you've done that you can browse the web normally. It's suggested you use another tab for browsing and leave the BT fon page open because then it's easier to log out when you've finished (though I'm sure it's meant to auto log you out after about 20min of inactivity if you forget)

Thanks for your info.yes I am aware you have to log in for btfon,as I said I can't do this as even though it only sometimes appears on the networks list, nothing happens when you click on it .in the past I've left it on all day and haven't been logged off,I think that's an option.so I would have lost my money surely for that one day pass I couldn't get back onto the next morning so how do I get my money back?!should I really have to move location when I need to use it at home?
