How much is a MB on a smart phone?

Hi, I'm looking at smartphones on PAYG. The one I like says it costs £3 per MB. What does this equate to in normal terms of usage. For example, If I wanted to use facebook for 10 minutes to check statuses and update my own status, how much would that cost?
