Overnight Google Earth has gone from my desktop (shortcut) and from my start up menu. Why? Where? Who took it? If I do a search on the start up menu, I get My Places which then reopens GE but with slight differences. How can I restore it? Should I just download it again?

I have been informed MI5 are onto you, Wrangler......

Do you think they'll give it back though?!
It should be still in Program menu (not start-up menu)
If it runs .. it's there. Make a new shortcut .. copy the P Menu entry and paste on D Top.

Thanks Albags but the strange thing is it isn't in the program list - the one you access from the start up button. However I notice that I also now seem to have a different version of gmail and an unrequested Google Chrome shortcut is now on my desktop. Could this be an update I didn't want as well? I thought maybe Earth would be part of the Chrome stuff but doesn't look like it. Whatever, I can't find Google Earth! SHould I just download it again?
Yours in bewilderment................
Just download and install it again.

and if you don't use it you might as well remove chrome (also be careful to untick the include chrome option during the google earth install)
Yep ... all those damn add-ons they keep trying to trick us into installing ..
Common one at the moment is the ruddy 'Ask' toolbar!!

They'll be adding a AB toolbar next : )

(Better answers you will get here anyway)
This happened to me Wrangler. Poof and it disappeared. I uninstalled it, installed it and did this time and time again. I'd given up but finally, and I don't know why, it appeared again. Fingers crossed, it's still here. I would agree in not installing Google Chrome.

Thanks all for your advice. I'll dig out my old Times' atlas I think!
Ooh, I've got one of those Wrangler, it was my father's. I would leave it for a while and then when you've got a bit of spare time when you're online, give downloading it a try. It worked for me.
