Printer dried up

I haven`t used my printer for a couple of weeks and now the sponge is dried it`s not printing, what can I do to rectify please?

Somewhere in your printer software you should have a maintenance feature which will give options for head cleaning and things like that.

Somewhere within the 'maintenance' settings, there's probably a 'deep clean' option. You might need to run it lots of time but it should eventually clear the problem.

Start > Settings > Printers & Faxes > Right-click on the icon for your printer > Properties > Maintenance.

I got away with damping mine slightly, it only worked once. It annoys me because I don't use my printer that much, but when I need it I have to buy another cartridge as they dry out in the meantime.

Carlton, You'll find that cleaning the cartridge in the printer can (and usually does!) use an awful lot of ink. If the cartridge has it's own print head (like HP and Canon printers) then you can often clear them by standing the print head in a saucer of hot (not boiling) water until cool then dry with paper tissue, repeating as necessary.
