It is a good idea to install all important Windows updates as they fix security problems and make your version of Windows more secure.

Microsoft have been pushing IE9 a lot, and I have seen varying reports, some people have no problems, others have problems.

I have IE9 on one of my Vista PCs and it is fine, I have had no problems. You hardly notice a difference.

If you do download and install it and dont like it you can uninstall it later.
Cancel (uncheck) the IE9 box ... stay with IE8 or Firefox. : )
(or there'll be trouble)

Albags, the message box said important, etc and didn't know whether to install, confess that i may have installed stuff that wasn't necessary. I will do as instructed, there is one thing, if you do a back up disk, keep it safely stored, and you want to do more backups, to stop from losing any further data, do you use the same disk or another one. The backup disk has pictures of family, friends, letters that are important. But don't know whether you put that back in computer and ask to back up same disk. Does that make sense.
IE9 is horrible. stick with what you know. I had to restore mine after putting it on, and BTW I have tried alternatives but still prefer IE8
