I have had the error message saying this is closing down - result is I cannot use printer.

Have tried googling and FixCleaner, WiseFixer have shown and also Microsofts Fixit.

Has anyone had any experience of these correction programs?

Any help would be most appreciated

Assuming you're using Xp as an OS
Check in Printer properties first to see what's in there.
Printer plus MS XPS are common.
Have you pdf software installed?
If looks normal, suspect printer drivers .. and look for update(s)

Thank you Nibble, yes I am using XP Pro. Have you any experience of the MS Fixit?

Thank you AlBags; I have looked in properties but don't know what looks 'normal'. You can gather I am not too switched on. Under Ports the xps is not ticked, only the HP_19.
I do have Adobe 7 installed.

Would appreciate any further advices you can offer - I am loathe to get into the 'nuts and bolts of registries if I can help it.

Many thanks and kindest regards,
