Query about Firefox 5.0
Updated to Firefox 5.0. When trying to view video ie: Youtube, etc, the screen 'hangs/freezes'. Checked Task manager and in Processes and find there are four separate listings for plugin-container.exe each with a memory usage in excess of 31,000. This surely cannot be right. I believe it is something related to Firefox. Anyone with advice please?

I disabled it with Firefox 4 but (despite occasional problems) I've not found it necessary to do so in Firefox 5.
If you want to disable it, type 'about:config' in your address bar (and click 'Go'). Read the warning about dragons and, if you're happy to proceed, click the button to enter Firefox's hidden settings.
Scroll down to the line which reads 'dom.ipc.plugins.enabled'. Double-click on that line, to change 'value' from 'true' to 'false'. Then go to the next three lines in the list and double click to change 'false' to 'true' in each case.

Thanks Chris for your prompt reply. I read on here last week about Task Manager that CPU within Processes should always be 00 with the exception of System which shows 99. That's fine. I also read that anything above 20,000 Mem Usage was irregular. Hence my initial query here. I was ok with your reply till you mentioned 'dragons'! I think I'll sleep on it tonight and have a wide awake look at it again tomorrow. No doubt I will be back for more of your super advice. Thanks again.
That sounds like you've been reading my posts, Sir.Prize!
The percentages shown under 'CPU' are often a good guide as to what (if anything) is going wrong. (System Idle Process is normally 'in the 90s'; it doesn't have to be any specific figure though). Earlier tonight I found that everything had really slowed up for me, here on AB. I took a look and found that firefox.exe was showing around 98 or 99! Closing Firefox, and restarting it, fixed the problem.

Same here Chris. I closed down, rebooted and the three instances of plugin-container.exe had disappeared! The reaining one is showing 45,000 Mem usage. And Firefox.exe is showing 419,000. Things seem to be changing around by themselves. Nothing to do with 'dragons in the night' I hope!
Ahhum - tomorrow is another day. Cheers.
