good step by step laptop replacement part sites...any recommendations?

i am fitting a new powerjack socket into my compaq presiaro f500 laptop...i do have some computer knowledge and used to build my own towers - and not just the plug an play parts...

however have never opened a laptop, except to replace ram, but i am confident with guidance i can fit it

anyone recommend a good step by step site to help me?

is it a case of more or less fitting into position etc, or is it very complicated?

Laptops are not designed to be as service/maintenance friendly as desktop PCs and require more intensive and intricate procedures to navigate to specific internal components which are not the usual replaceable suspects (battery, hard drive , RAM).

It may (or may not) be quite simple to replace the part but getting to the original is certainly not quick and easy.

Perusal of the service manual may be of benefit...
