My Samsung HDMI BlueRay Player suddenly says NO Signal to my Samsung TV, it worked perfectly well for months, until one day when we went to watch a blueray dvd the screen said No Signal, i asked Samsung for advice and they told me to get a new HDMI cable and this would solve the problem, i went out and spent a fortune purchasing a gold tipped cable only to come home and find i have exactly the same problem...No Signal, typically the Blueray player did this the day after the warrenty expired so am close to throwing it in the bin and purchasing a new one..this is something i really dont wish to do, can anyone help with some advice please?

Many thanks in advance

Is it the TV HDMI socket or the DVD that does not work? Sometimes the HDMI board on the TV dies. And sometimes it's just a glitch. Turn the tv off. Try unplugging the tv from the wall for about 10 minutes. While it's unplugged, remove any HDMI cables attached to it also. After about 10 minutes replug the HDMIs . Turn on the DVD player first, wait about 30 seconds, then turn on the tv. See if the reboot fixes the problem. If you are then sure it is the DVD player go back to the shop and insist on a replacement according to the stat law a DVD player is made to last longer that 13 months and you are entitled to a replacement or repair.

Thanks KJN i tried what you said and its exactly the same...the actual player seems to work except for the fact it says No Signal...so i guess its the socket on the tv that must have gone.
Could it be the HDMI cable itself that has failed? I had an expensive Sony one go on me recently for apparently no reason, it just stopped working. Purchased a cheap one from Asda and all was well again.

Hi D97x7 ive tried 8 brand new cables, from the cheap to the expensive, the actual machine works except for saying No Signal, i guess my next step is to call out my tv engineers as my tv is still under warrenty and check its not the HDMI port itself

Thanks KJN you were right, my tv engineers came out today, and told me that the HDMI board in the tv had blown, so thank you very much :)
Pleased that all is now ok,
