My laptop will only let Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox work in Safe Mode, how do I fix this to make them work normally?
Is there any software I can download that will fix this?
Thanks in advance.

I suspect that nobody will be able to answer your question without further information. What happens when you try to use a web browser in 'normal' mode? Does the program not even open? Or does the program load but with incredibly slow page downloads? Or with no pages downloaded at all?

In normal mode neither even opens.
Hmmm.

Possible reasons:
1. Both programs have become corrupted ;
2. There's a registry error affecting both programs ;
3. Another process is preventing the programs from launching ;

Possible solutions:
A. Do a full scan with your anti-virus software, to check that there's not something blocking your browsers.
B. Do a full-scan with the anti-malware component of your security suite. (If you've not got one, or as well, download, install and run the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: http://www.malwarebyt...cts/malwarebytes_free ).
C. Try pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete and clicking on the 'Processes tab' to see if something is hogging nearly all of the processing power. The percentages shown,under the 'CPU' heading should all be either '00' or very low figures. Only 'System Idle Process' should be showing a really high figure. If anything unusual has a very high figure, that's what's taking up all of your processing power.
D. Try a fresh download and installation of Firefox ;
E. If the problem is fairly recent, run System Restore (from Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools) to take the registry back to a date before the problem first occurred .

There's a lot of guesswork in there but a registry error would be near to the top of my list of potential causes. So System Restore might be the solution (but you should still check for viruses and malware, just in case it was something nasty which corrupted the registry in the first place).

Did a full scan with a anti-virus software and a scan using a anti-malware and removed any problems that showed and tried a system restore but it only goes back to when the problem started.
Even tried a Registry Repair software but still the same.
Anyone any other ideas?
Read about HijackThis .. download and run it ... save a text file.
Check out what is actually running.
Be careful using it.
Question Author
Tried Hijack This made no difference, anyone else had the same problems and knows how to fix this?
Without knowing what OS you are using you could do a repair on Windows using your installation disc. It apears that the registry has become corrupted or windows itself has been corrupted.
Question Author
I have Windows 7 which came installed on the laptop so no installation disc.
Question Author
Problem solved, it seems to have been Mozilla Firefox causing the trouble. I have been uninstalling it and reinstalling it but still had the problem, finally thought I would remove it for good and everything has went back to normal.
Thanks for all the advice.
Something must be wrong with the way you installed it.
You must be the only person in the country that can't install Firefox.

I have had Firefox on my laptop for over year and it has worked great till I started to have these problems, so the problem must have been with Firefox because once I had removed it everything went back to normal.
Albags it must be wonderful to be so perfect !!!!!
Have you tried Chrome? I find it's better than either.
Question Author
Yes , I had downloaded Chrome and its working great.
