I have a CF 64mb for my Nikon coolpix 3100. It is suddenly showing that I can only take 13 pictures on 2mp setting, (the card is empty), when of course I used to take loads. I have been using it about 5years, but not regularly. How long should these cards last please. TIA rosy

Have you formatted it?

That may clear out some old images that may be lurking on there.

Thank you VHG I did that and now can take 125pics. Of course now I am worrying about what I might have deleted, but I hope I had them all backed up (as you always say!) but too late now. Thank again rosy
Wow, the camera can hide old images ? Learn something new every day I suppose. Had I been in that situation I think I'd have invested in a card reader for the PC, and had a nose at what was taking up all the storage space. Still I guess what you didn't miss you won't worry about.

Thanks OG but I do have a card reader which I used first and it emptied my card, or so I thought, and as you say - what you don't miss......... but thanks again rosy
