installing a driver

i am trying to install a wireless usb dongle onto a laptop but the problem is the cd rom is faulty and i cant install the driver cd is there any other way of installing the driver so i can use the laptop wirelessly any advice greatly appreciated thanks

Download it from the manufacturer;s website

Can you not go onto the Make/Brands web site page and look for any driver downloads for your device? Sometimes They provide the drivers on their website for free to download if you don't have the disc. What is the Make and model number of your wireless dongle? We can't help if we don't know what exactly you have!

the problem is i cant go online thats why i was trying to install the wireless adaptor dongle so cant download from manufacturer site all it says is ralink on the card that came with the mini cd

Download the 2nd, 3rd and 7th drivers in this list. (Use any internet-connected computer, such as the one you used to post your question)

(The one you want should be among them. It won't do any harm to install all three).

Then, using removable media (such as a CD-R, DVD-R or media stick), copy the files onto your PC and double-click on each of them in turn, to run their installation programs .

On the deice (in Device Manager) assuming it is recognised , select update driver and browse to the location.
You will soon be told if the correct driver is not there.
