Seen some speakers on the PC World website for £100.00 made by JBL. As I have never heard of them, does anyone have some, are they any good. Want them to listen to my itunes library whilst online. Any other suggestions always welcome. They are to go on my apple imac. Thanks.

Which model?
JBL used to have a good reputation for speakers but I am not aware of how things are nowadays. Getting good sound out of small speakers is always going to be difficult.
Try before you buy if possible.

The Model snags is the JBL duet 111 2.0 computer speakers.

Hardly a surprising review really, you're never going to get big bass from little speakers.

Thanks Chuck as I do like a bit of bass on my music guess I shall have to out and have a listen. If anyone knows of some good speakers please let me know. I do not mind paying a bit more if they are good. Thanks.
riptide... haven't heard that model. Have heard their Creature IIs on a Mac (two desktop speakers and a sub woofer bass unit) which was pretty impressive and can now be got for a lot less than £100... try ebay.
Heard good things about these too:

The Logitech Z323 speakers (again a 2.1 setup) also sound good.
Have you thought about getting a 5.1 surround sound system? I have one plugged into my laptop, a decent set-up can be picked up for around £50 great sound too.
Can't comment on the speakers but I do have two JBL iPod docks and have to say they are superb, so quality is assured if nothing else!
They appear to get good reviews here:

I've been looking at these recently:

Yes I do have a Richer Sounds near me, good idea will go and have a look. Thanks Gingebee. The only problem I have with a separate amplifier is that sometimes they humm quite badly. I did have a Bose 2.1 surround system and that was awful. Only other alternative would be to get a separate system for my ipod. Still have an open mind so will check out the stores for a good deal.
Always found Richers to be extremely helpful and it is important to try speakers, headphones etc. before buying to avoid expensive mistakes. Good luck with your purchase!
You want Creative T40 speakers. They a re 14 watts RMS and the base is deep and rich. We use them as hi fi speakers in our apartment in Turkey plugged into DVD player and iPods. Treble is crisp and clear too.
They are fantastic .
