3D cinema glasses, will both these work?

I was looking up ebay for 3D cinema glasses and I found two different types. One type have dark lenses and the others have a red lens and a blue lens. Any time I've ever been to a 3D film the glasses have always been dark lensed. I'm just wondering do both these types of glasses work in the cinema 3D movies? You need to know what type of glasses required for what movie.
The Red/Cyan work for a few movies you can watch at home on DVD. These are passive filter glasses. There is another colour combo .. plus the circular polarisation type.

The glasses supplied by the cinema are suitable for the film shown. Why would you want to buy such things when they are supplied by the cinema?

Cos I want to have my own tboo. Thanks Albags, I think I'll just go for the dark ones as I'm sure they are the same as the cinema's own.

buy a pair at cinema when you go to see a film (they cost £1 at my local cineworld) and then you can reuse them every time you see a 3d film at cinema.
