Spam email from son

I have received a spam email from my son's email address - is this a problem in anyway (obviously he hasn't sent it but it is similar, maybe even the same, as one I deleted from my spam thing yesterday)? Thanks

I think it's some sort of virus he has which sends out spam to everyone in his address book

Yes I get them regularly from my best friend. But I just delete them without opening.
