Nokia 2760 "drowned".

My mobile got very wet last Wednesday, and I didn't discover how bad till following morning. Completely dead. Phone and battery have been in bowl of rice since last Friday, but still no life.
I'm wondering if a new battery might be worth a try.

Does anybody know if I'd be able to get info off the phone by plugging in a USB cable and connecting to Windows 98SE? Think sticking point, yet again, might be operating system on computer. Thanks.

Thanks for answers rojash and EDDIE51. As I said, I didn't realise till following morning that my phone had got so wet. My phone is back in the rice (as per suggestion from TV gadget show), and in the airing cupboard. It's annoying that as soon as I came inside, from doing gutter repairs in the pouring rain, I took off my watch and set it to dry out - wish I'd thought of phone too!
Any opinions on USB cable? I suspect phone needs to be swtiched on, but thought somebody on here might know otherwise.
