Recover deleted files on external hard drive

My dad has deleted files on an external hard drive.....I know that they aren't actually physically deleted. Is there a way I can recover them?

You will need software like that above to do this. I think some of them are free to download and will run the scan and tell you which files you will be able to recover before paying for the full version to actually recover them. Which is fair enough really but at least you'll know what is possible before paying out.

In the meantime leave the drive unplugged to stop any unnecessary activity that may begin to overwrite what was on there.

I once did this and managed to get back most of the files, I now take regular backups.

Any activity from here on out could possibly overwrite it so don't do anything. I had a similar issue and used a software called Undelete Plus and that was able to recover all of the files in a folder i accidentally deleted.

Hi, pharoh. Well, you have chance to recover them back. But the first step to you should do is to stop using the drive containing the lost files immediately in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of recovery. As to recovery program, you can also take a try this Data Recovery Tool,

I have used one data recovery software. It can do format recovery, unformat and recover deleted files emptied from Recycle Bin. of cause it can recover deleted data from external hard drive.
