Does anyone know if you can watch the BBC iplayer on the ipad. I have heard that it does not work for the on demand programmes. Also is it any good for reading books?

Thanks.

Excellent thanks cazzz, already have an imac, but would be handy to have an ipad to use anywhere, much cheaper than a mac laptop.
There is also

http://tvcatchup.com

which has an iPad website that lets you stream over wifi all the freeview channels and some more. 40+ channels.
You can also download books from the library which you cannot do on Kindle for some reason.
