Is it worth buying "the flip"

Have just seen "the Flip" pocket camcorder advertised on a shopping channel and think it looks good but have stumbled across an article saying that the company is being wound up. I'd like to buy it but this worries me, Is there an alternative by another manufacturer that is similar or even better? Thanks.

Not for the £65 you can buy them for on the web.
How much on QVC then?

my son has a Flip HD camera. it's broken and been replaced 3 times. it's going back for a refund now.

but it was pretty good while it worked!

they have no repair centre in the UK. fortunately, Amazon were really good about the replacements and now a credit back to my account.

Too many goinf duff I s'pose. Price you pay for micro-engineering gadgets.
China are great at making them.

Making them last more than a year or so is a bigger problem : )
