Changing router password.

How can I change my router password as I think others are using it, it's an obvious one!! Thanks.

Unfortunately, what's less obvious (at lest to us) is which particular router you are using.

Most routers can be configured by typing their address into your browser.
Typically 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 (you need to do this when connected via a cable).
You'll be asked for the login name and password (this is not the same as the wifi security password.
Once in, you'll need to go to the wireless security settings page, where you can set the wifi security.

Your router's settings are accessed via your web browser.

With your router connected via an ethernet cable (that's the bright yellow or orange one which should have come with the router) open your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc), type the relevant 'dotted quad' (like the numbers suggested by Rojash) into the browser's address bar and click 'Go'.

We can't tell you what the required 'dotted quad' is without knowing the make of your browser. (When you do manage to get into the settings you'll encounter a password field. If you've never set a password on your router you can usually just leave it blank).

Thanks but do not even have a yellow cable, it's an aqprox! I give up.
