Grandson did something to PC and now I can't access Google. Something called alOt has appeared on screen which has enabled me to access Answerbank but when I try to look at a posted link I get rejected. Any idea what the little darling could have done and how I could remedy it? His Xmas present is at stake.

Are you sure he hasn't just made this alOt your home page?

Thanks Dave, however I'm computer illiterate. How do I change it back to what it was?
What browser are you using? If Internet Explorer search for Google.co.uk. When the page opens it asks at the top left of the page if you want to make google your homepage.

Thanks sandyRoe. It is explorer but I can't see the home page info you mentioned, however I'll persevere. The best he can hope for at the minute is that Poundstretchers are open on Xmas eve. Thanks again - HW
in the search bar, if that's its proper name, type in; google.co.uk. You'll come to a page with a list of google options. Click on the top one which should be google.co.uk which offers UK-specific pages.
at the top right of the screen there should be three symbols. A little house, a star, and a cogwheel. Click on the cogwheel. A drop down menu will appear. Click on 'Internet options'.
A window will open and in a box under 'home page' type in the address you want as home page.
Below that there are 3 boxes. 'Use current', is the one you need to click on. Finally click on 'apply' at the bottom of the window.

Got it sandyRoe - thanks so much for your considerable help - this will cost me the price of a proper Xmas present for the darling little one - I'll get him something else too from your Xmas cards link which I managed to open - once again many thanks - HW (I was not serious about his present of course)
