Digital Switchover April 2012

I have had a window come up on my Freeview screen about this digital switchover. As I only use Freeview in my TV and in my DVD player, do I need to do anything ?

You'll probably have to retune your freeview receiver.

Now when the window comes up, or in April?

You will have to press the yellow button again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and .... until they work out not to keep telling you every time you watch the TV.

Rescan when it happens in April as they will probably have messd up all the frequencies they presently use.

Is it easy to re scan ?

Smurf: wait until April - all becomes clear with lots of local press ads etc. Nothing complicated and usually goes smoothly.

When it came up in our area recently all the TV's in the house prompted a retune at the required time and TV couldn't be watched without retuning but it's dead easy to do.

You are already getting digital with your freeview connection so all it means is your Anolouge signal will be lost in April, as you are not using this there is nothing for you to do other than a new scan, if your freeview does not auto add new channels then do a scan now and again in April.
