no volume on telivision

if the volume works when i play a dvd but on
normal veiwing tv has no volume what could be wrong
any suggestions thanks

Maybe you have your cables set up wrong, I bought a blu ray player at the weekend and could only get sound from that, I had connected my exterior aerial straight to the tv and had by- passed the sky box, when I put it back through the sky box sound was restored

This happened to my sons TV. I changed the scart lead and it was fine. Just a suggestion.
